Mayfield is setting out to become the artistic and entertainment hub of the Central West and while we have an exciting schedule of events and workshops of our own lined up, we are here to help you create a stunning event of your own at Mayfield, be it a Christmas party, corporate retreat or private event.

During our Summer Festival, we open certain parts of the Private Garden to visitors including our Amphitheatre, Croquet Court and Chinese Pagoda along with The Creek and Sunken Garden Rooms. Local musicians perform live on weekends in our Garden Centre – it just adds to the whole lovely experience of visiting our Nursery, Kitchen Garden and Café & Produce Store. The row boats will be ready for you on Mayfield Lake (no additional costs). For more information head to our PRIVATE GARDEN page.
The setting is the spectacular Allée, right above the Obelisk Pond at Mayfield. The scene is magical … strings of festoon lights, long white tables. The food is a generous, communal, home grown Mayfield feast. The wine … nothing but our local premiums. The entertainment … the region’s best.
And to cap it off … everyone is dressed in white! This is a favourite on our calendar. Make sure you get in early and add it to yours.
In April 2017, we launched AutumnFest, with James Reyne, Boom Crash Opera, Matt Boylan-Smith and dynamic duo, Smith & Jones taking to the Mayfield stage. A fabulous crowd descended on the Mayfield Obelisk and Pond, rocked the afternoon away and enjoyed local eats from an array of local food trucks. It was a cracker of a day and we’ll be doing it all again, bigger and better in 2018. Keep an eye out for the lineup.
During the 16 day Autumn Festival the Hawkins Family opens its Private Garden to visitors so this is your opportunity to explore the entire 160 acres of Mayfield. Get lost in the traditional English inspired Maze, see the Croquet Court, the Chapel, the Chook Hilton, the 80 metre Cascade with Temple and much more. In Autumn, our row boats are available on Mayfield Lake (at no additional cost) and interactive games are scattered throughout the garden for your family and friends to enjoy. There is a courtesy bus making several stops around the garden which is great for less mobile visitors.
Mayfield’s Café & Kiosk will be open from 9am – 4.30pm. For more information head to our PRIVATE GARDEN page.
During our Autumn Festival, we are hosting a ‘Park Drive – Horse Carriage Event.’ It is based on the British concept of individuals putting on their best outfits and driving out with horses and carriages around a short course while they are judged on their turnouts for such things as: elegance, obedience of horses and overall appearance. You can witness the event and judging when you enter the garden.
